Tracking & Trapping Course
Tracking & Trapping Course
In this Tracking & Trapping Course, you will learn how to track and trap food using handmade traps and snares. Since ancient times, humans have hunted and gathered to survive. They used every part of the animal, wasting nothing. Fur was made into clothing for warmth. Meat, sinews, and bones were used as valuable resources for tools.
You will learn to observe the movements and habitats of various animals. Each animal has different habits, requiring different hunting methods. For instance, stalking an animal might involve using bushes for cover or moving on hands and knees. In tall grass, trackers crawl on their stomachs, pulling themselves forward with their elbows. Different animals or birds need different approaches due to their characteristics.
The key is to avoid attracting attention with sudden movements. Trackers move slowly when the animal isn’t looking and stay still when it is. They must also avoid disturbing other animals. A startled animal will alert others in the area, including the one being tracked. All trapping techniques taught in the course are for demonstration only, as hunting laws vary by country. Food will be provided and cooked on-site. Options like moose and reindeer meat are available, depending on the course you choose.
